Few months ago, a friend of mine approached me and asked if I am still offering English lessons for kids. It has been some time since I last did English classes due to the arrival of my two children.

Well, I always had the idea of starting an English playgroup in my mind, especially for my son who is now 3.5 years old. However, with my 22 months old girl always with me, it appeared to be a bit of a challenge to find a suitable time, place and children to join.

Then it dawned on me that I could do it informally from my home, with my daughter by my side and still teach English, just like how a home school is run. After some discussion with my friend, which I am grateful that she does not mind having my daughter together in the group, we started this English group.

The next question was, "How should I call this English group?" Clearly, I want the English lessons to be impactful, to have time well spent on learning, with no free play but structured and objective oriented. To call it an English Playgroup would not quite reflect the thoughtfulness that I invest in preparing the lesson. To call it an English Learning Group, would sound too serious and lacking the fun factor. Hence, I settled for "English for Kids".

We have now 4 children plus 2 of my kids. The class takes place in Wettingen. I shall keep blogging on what we do in each lesson and hopefully you may join us one day.
